Brodie Nitro’s Build Your Empire University Review, Scam?

Build Your Empire University claims they can teach you how to kickstart a successful online career in less than 30 days, even if you don’t have a social media following or any prior experience or technical skills.

To test this bold statement, I decided to give it a shot. The initial cost was just a dollar for a seven-day trial, followed by a reasonable $99 per month if I chose to continue. This fits well within my budget, and there’s a refund policy in case I need it, though I doubt I will.

What caught my attention is the numerous positive reviews about the service, which I thoroughly researched before committing to ensure it wasn’t a scam.

I’m sharing this review based on my personal experience with Build Your Empire University. I want to emphasize that I’m not affiliated with them, meaning I’m not being paid for this review.

Towards the end of this review, I’ll also introduce a better alternative that has helped me establish a full-time passive income online.

How Does Build Your Empire University Help You Make Money?

Build Your Empire University is a program that teaches how to make money online by promoting Enagic, a company selling water filter systems, through social media.

The training focuses on “attraction marketing” to attract others to join Enagic’s sales team. You’ll learn to build an impressive online presence so people approach you for more info.

Your main job is to convince others to become their own boss by buying Enagic’s pricey water filter systems. When they do, you earn commissions.

The course also shows how to use social media ads to boost these sales and turn it into a full-time gig.

To succeed, you’ll need to act as a sales manager, motivating your team to sell more. Enagic operates like a typical MLM, where distributors recruit others who then recruit more people.

Basically, all the training is about promoting Enagic and growing its sales team.

Who is Build Your Empire University for?

Build Your Empire University targets newcomers, as stated on their Frequently Asked Questions page

Yes, our training is so thorough that even a complete newbie to the digital world can succeed.

While I agree that the training is thorough, I don’t think this is a viable option for anyone looking to make money online, as the success rate among MLM participants is extremely low.

Who is Brodie Nitro?

Brodie Nitro, also known as Brodie SalNitro, is a co-founder of Build Your Empire University (BYEU). Before that, he worked with cosmetic clinics, dentists, and chiropractors. He teamed up with Ashley Taylor to create BYEU, which helps beginners in the digital world start their online careers without making the same mistakes Brodie did.

The program guides students to rebrand themselves and sell a lifestyle if they choose to join Brodie in promoting Enagic. Although not explicitly stated, this becomes the reality Brodie presents. His work travels in Thailand from his prior career are now part of the fantasy he sells through BYEU.

Brodie has openly discussed his troubled past in a 2020 podcast interview.

Brodie's 2020 podcast interview

He candidly shares experiences on both extremes of life, including struggles with mental health, association with criminals, and facing numerous felony charges. After serving time in prison, he transformed his life positively upon release.

Certainly, having a criminal record doesn’t necessarily make someone a scammer. We’ve all made silly mistakes in our lives.

On Brodie’s YouTube channel, there are only 92 subscribers. If you want to get a taste of his teaching style, you can watch the video below:

Here’s the breakdown of the program:

Main Modules

Below is an overview of each module you can find inside the program:

The module introduces online opportunities, the entrepreneurial journey they might undergo, and the overall mindset needed when aiming to make money online.

Module 2: The Discovery Process

In Module 2, Brodie highlighted it as a chance to discover your “whys.” This section introduces various members sharing their journeys and personal motivations for joining the program.

Whether or not you opt to be an affiliate or sell water machines, the accompanying worksheet can still provide valuable insights.

Build-Your-Empire-University-Module-Two

Module 3: Business Launch Blueprint

Module 3 delves into the financial side of the program. Some sources might be vague about this stage because it involves introducing Enagic’s water alkalizer.

While the product is effective, it comes with a hefty price tag in the thousands. If Brodie were to outright market his online course as MLM training, it might deter participants.

Module 4: Before Your Coaching Call

This module equips you to define your goals and handle your expectations.

It takes the theories presented earlier and translates them into actionable steps necessary for making money, whether it’s through their affiliate program or promoting the water alkalizer.

Before your coaching call, they provide a recap of previous discussions.

Module 5: Funding Your Business

In Module 5, we tackle the essential aspect of funding your business. Starting any business involves spending money, and it’s not uncommon.

However, a caution is necessary for this part of the program. In the webinar, Brodie mentions members who had to sell belongings or take out loans to kickstart their online careers.

While you might need to invest, hopefully, it won’t be for the water alkalizer. BYEU strongly recommends considering financing options and personal loans.

Investing $1 in this bonus is worthwhile. It encompasses a range of topics such as social media marketing, attraction marketing, Canva tutorials, affiliate programs, paid ads, and more.

Copywriting Masterclass

Unlike other training programs, BYEU doesn’t just provide scripts; they actually teach their students how to write their own copy.

Mindset 101 Course

Maintaining the right mindset is crucial for anyone interested in selling MLM offers; otherwise, you’ll quickly lose motivation.

The Community and Facebook Group and Live Calls

Once your trial period ends, you get full access to all the features, including the forum, Facebook group, and live chats.

However, I must admit, I find the forum and Facebook group a bit too cult-like. There’s a sense of thought control, a touch of magical thinking, and a tendency to shut down any questioning.

Failures seem to be squarely placed on the members, often attributed to supposed lack of hard work or competence.

The group lacks accountability, and leaders don’t seem open to questions or criticism. It’s a bit of a concern.

Is Build Your Empire University a Pyramid Scheme?

No, Build Your Empire University is not a pyramid scheme. It’s a coaching program focused on motivation and fostering a healthy mindset to prepare students for their online careers.

Brodie is associated with an MLM (Enagic) and presents it as an option for those without their own business. If someone aims to make money within the first 7 days of joining, the opportunity to sell the water alkalizer for a commission is available.

Technically, even Enagic isn’t a pyramid scheme. Distributors can make money by selling water machines and turmeric supplements. Unlike pyramid schemes that reward recruiting, Enagic compensates for selling products.

However, it’s worth noting that Brodie’s training has strong MLM vibes, even if the term Multi-Level Marketing isn’t explicitly used.

It’s important to recognize that many people view MLMs as unethical, and in some places, they are considered illegal.

My Experience With Build Your Empire University

Having gone through the BYE University, here’s a breakdown:

To get started, there are three steps are involved in Build Your Empire University:

  • Sign up for a $1 trial of all access
  • Watch the videos and training modules to learn more
  • To get started, contact a coach for a free consultation

Post the 7-day trial, your credit card is automatically charged $99 monthly. Don’t forget to set a phone reminder to avoid any unwelcome surprises when canceling your membership.

Here’s what you’ll actually get from BYE University:

  • Mindset (brainwashing) training
  • A training program with 100 videos that teach students how to use social media to sell Enagic’s products and recruit people to join Enagic’s team
  • Private FB group
  • Weekly live calls
  • Ash and Brodie seem like good guys. In any case, they provide this type of training with as much value as they can.

You will acquire some decent marketing and branding skills by using social media. In addition, you’ll learn how to make sales scale and how to use paid ads on social media.

However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that you will basically learn how to fake it till you make it. To become a full-time sales manager for Enagic, your sole job is to recruit and recruit people into the MLM to sell these expensive water machines.

The following products are available for you to promote:

Enagic has eight water ionizer machines and a variety of Ukon (turmeric) supplements.

The only thing these machines remove is chlorine. Water ionizers offer the following benefits (besides changing the pH of water):

  • Electric current separates charged particles from electrolyzed reduced water (ERW)
  • Hydroxygen rich water (HRW): dissolved hydrogen gas (acted as an antioxidant).
  • Oxidation-reduction potential (ORP): the lower the number, the more antioxidants in the  water (which is good)

According to distributors (most of whom are completely uninformed about these theories), the following health benefits can be attained:

  • Slows down the ageing process
  • Boost immune system
  • Added hydration
  • Boost metabolism
  • Relieves heartburn
  • Diabetes, cancer, measles cured

Personally, I find much of this a bit wishy-washy. After reviewing some studies, it’s evident that more research is needed to support these health claims.

Enagic’s flagship product is the K8. It claims to offer a pH range from 2.5 to 11.

Advertised benefits include:

  • Acidic 2.5 ph: remove the pesticide from food and disinfect
  • 6.0pH: “beauty water” for skin and hair
  • Alkaline 11pH: best for drinking

On a personal note, I didn’t buy into their idea, and I haven’t purchased any water machine. My interest lies more in understanding their funnel and how their scheme works.

Are Build Your Empire University Students Getting Results?

While I haven’t earned a penny from the program, some students at Build Your Empire University are sharing positive outcomes.

Those who engage in the training modules and coaching feel it has guided them toward the right mindset to kickstart their online careers and transform their lives.

For some, although not publicly disclosed, there’s a likelihood that their earnings are tied to purchases of Kangen machines and involvement in the MLM.

However, it’s worth noting that many success stories appear to be more about general positive sentiments rather than specific and tangible results.

To get a better understanding, you can check the official BYEU web pages for numerous positive testimonials from former students.

However, even a glance at the Trustpilot website doesn’t provide much clarity…

Testimonials From Build Your Empire University Students

It’s a bit disappointing not to find more recent reviews for a course that seems to be well-received and popular.

Recommendation: Here’s The Best Alternative

How Much Does BYE University Cost?

To give the course a try for the first 7 days, it’s just $1. If you decide to continue beyond the initial week, the monthly fee is $99.

The total expense for the entire course, covering materials and tuition, is $1188.

However, there are additional costs involved.

To become a distributor, you’ll need to buy a water purification system and present your unique ID card at checkout. This self-sale will cost you $4,980.

Alternatively, the program recommends purchasing the Enagic Trifecta, a bundle of three products, for $8630, promising better profits.

There are also extra monthly costs for email autoresponders and sponsored ads, which can add up to $500.

When you tally it all up, you’re looking at an overall cost of approximately $700.

Build Your Empire University Discount

I searched everywhere for a promotion or coupon code, but unfortunately, there’s nothing available.

It’s either full price or nothing.

Refund Policy

According to the BYEU sales page, you can return the demo version within 7 days for a full refund.

We will refund your initial $1 investment if you do not find our platform useful in any way during your seven day trial period.

The training’s refund policy is straightforward. You have an additional 7 days to request a refund for the first month.

However, once this period and subsequent months pass, refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.

You have until 11:59pm PM EST on the 14th day after your first $1 purchase to request a refund. After 14 days have passed since the date of purchase, no refunds will be issued.

Praise for Build Your Empire University

  • Active and supportive private community.

  • Extensive training offered.
  • Live group calls for interactive learning.

Criticism of Build Your Empire University

  • Limited student success stories available.
  • Monthly fee required for training access.
  • MLM-like approach.
  • Lack of transparency on additional business investment beyond training cost.
  • Absence of a search function makes finding specific lessons challenging.
  • Training can be disjointed and hard to navigate.

Is Build Your Empire University a Scam?

Build Your Empire University isn’t a scam. You can indeed make money online through it, particularly by focusing on recruiting and selling Enagic’s water machines within the MLM.

However, not many folks want to take on the persona often associated with social media promotion, which might hinder their success.

There’s the option to present an idealized version of yourself online, even if it doesn’t match your reality, and reach out to as many people as possible, pushing them to “be their own boss,” despite not having earned anything substantial yet.

Some may even pressure people, who can’t afford it, into buying these costly machines, suggesting that the profits from this new “online business” will clear their debts swiftly (which is often a hope rather than a reality!).

The concept of faking it until you make it might feel odd if you never actually make a significant income.

While those undergoing BYE University training may find financial success, the ethical aspects of their methods might be questioned.

Why Brodie Nitro’s BYE University Can Make You Broke?

It starts with a seemingly affordable $1 for a 7-day trial with Brodie Nitro’s Build Your Empire program. But here’s where it gets tricky:

After the trial, accessing the training and Facebook group costs a monthly fee of $99, inclusive of weekly calls.

However, that’s not the end of the financial journey.

To dive into Enagic MLM, you need to invest a minimum of $1,980 in a machine, accompanied by ongoing monthly costs.

Breaking down the costs for BYE University’s programs:

  • Training and community access: $99 per month
  • Additional costs to consider:
    • Email autoresponder: $15+ monthly
    • Funnel builders: $25-$97 monthly
    • Tracking software: $25+ monthly
    • Ad expenses: At least $100 monthly

In total, you might be looking at over $250 a month for education and tools.

To achieve a 6A title, you must sell 10 machines within the qualifying month.

After six months without sales, expect reduced earnings from indirect sales (your downline selling machines).

The recommended “Trifecta” costs around $10,000 after tax.

And don’t forget about preparing to spend $5,280 annually on supplements and tools. If you don’t invest in them, selling to others becomes a challenge – your upline might raise this concern.

How Do I Make Money From Home?

If you want to make a full-time passive income from home, I’d suggest you to start an affiliate marketing business.

In affiliate marketing, you can run your business almost with zero cost. Most importantly, you don’t need to invest in creating and developing any products.

A 21-year-old student from my #1 recommended training platform of affiliate marketing was able to earn $7,395 in just 1 week, which means he made more than $1k a day…all while using free traffic methods and affiliate marketing.
